On a personal note...

On a more personal note I’m beginning to master the art of repelling mosquitos (by covering myself in repellant every hour or so and using minyak tawon as an antidote if a mosquito finds me just too delicious) and am acclimatising to the heat. The geckos and lizards no longer frighten me and I’m quite enjoying sleeping under a mosquito net it reminds me of camping and I know that geckos can’t get in while I sleep - they are restricted to the bedroom walls. The meaning of ‘safe space’ has taken on a whole other meaning when sharing a shower with a gecko (eight inches long) that when it bites it doesn’t let go unless there’s thunder. It’s ok, I think we’re friends now.

I’ve written a new song about consciousness and while I’ve vowed to maintain a mindfulness practice each day more often than not it’s taken the form of listening to Harry Potter audiobooks. Mosquito time is 5-7 so I tend to hide ‘under the net’ during this time if possible which often results in an evening nap. The rhythm of life is such that I’ve found time to create again after not really being able to make music since returning from Palestine.

The collaboration with KunoKini is quite extraordinary. We’ve written a new song and collaborated on songs of mine and music of theirs. All of which, hopefully, will be recorded in some format or other before home time. Time itself is wandering on off into the clouds and I would like to step up my circular breathing practice. I’ve tasted wonder-filled tropical fruits of all kinds for breakfast lunch and dinner and continue to receive a warm welcome.

Perhaps I’ll put up an audio recording of what we’ve been doing but that’s all for now folks!

Lyrics for my new song. I'm not quite ready to reveal them so it will take a keen eye to decipher this first draft.
